Natural Products and their Environment:

Due to the nature of wood and it being a natural product, most items will not be identical in nature and some will have natural markings like knots; these are not flaws.  We will describe our items to the best of our abilities pointing out any natural markings as and where necessary.  Natural marks like knots and bark will feature in a lot of our items.  We see these as features and we actually try and incorporate them into our products.

How heat, damp and light can effect timber:

Please be aware that we regularly use timber that has been dried naturally rather than kiln dried.  We aim to use timber that has a moisture content of no more than 15%.  Products may over time and depending on how houses are heated have an effect on some of our products.  If you place an item to close to a heat source (ie: a radiator), this will probably reduce the moisture content and can cause distortion of the product.

Alternatively, placing an item in a wet/steamy environment such as a bathroom can also cause distortion.  We ask that you keep this in mind when purchasing our products as we cannot be held responsible for the environment you choose to place your items.  Wood also ages and will darken over a period of time; this in our opinion adds character to a piece.

Constant direct sunlight may also have a bleaching effect on timber and we do not recommend leaving timber products in direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Payment & Ordering:

Currently we can only accept orders sent via e-mail once we have received and confirmed your order we will raise an invoice via paypal as this is the most secure way we know of. We do not at this time accept credit cards (although you can use credit/debit cards via Paypal) and do not accept payment via any cash transfer companies.

We can accept a payment by cheque by prior arrangement.  Cheques upon receipt take 5 to 7 working days to clear and goods will not be dispatched until cleared funds are available.

Commissions & unique peices

Commissioned items will require a 75% deposit and final payment on confirmation that the goods are ready for dispatch.  If full payment for goods ordered for a commission are not received within 7 days of confirmation from us we will assume cancellation and the deposit will be retained to cover the costs of materials, unless certain circumstances forbid this (i.e.: holidays, bereavement) then we will keep the item until such time as you are ready to continue the contract at our discretion.  Any commissions undertaken will have an estimated time for work to be completed. Commisions may be declined due to current workload, in these curcumstances I may be able to add you to a waiting list to be contacted when I have sufficient time to undertake you commission.

Cancellation & Returns:

You have the right to cancel your order up till 7 days after you have received your item(s).  This gives you time to inspect them and contact us in writing (with the exception of commissioned items).  If we do not hear from you within the 7 days we will assume all is well and that you are happy with your product.  If you do wish to cancel we will refund all money paid including original shipping costs.  You will assume responsibility for return postage.  Consumers are under a statutory duty throughout the period of cancellation to retain possession of the goods and take reasonable care of them.

If when purchasing an item and a free gift is given you are also responsible for returning that item along with the original item purchased should you cancel the order.

With commissioned items you have up until the deposit is paid to cancel your order; once the deposit is paid and we have confirmed receipt of the deposit we will be in agreement that the item is in the process of production and due to the unique nature of the item it would not be possible to resell the item.  If you do decide to cancel after the production has started then the initial deposit is non-refundable.

We endeavour to pack items well to lessen the risk of damage in transit.  If you receive an item and it is damaged, or you suspect transit damage, please contact us within 3 days of receipt so that we may remedy this for you.

Lead Time for Delivery & Shipping Costs:

Due to the nature of our products and some being quite heavy we tend to use a courier service to help reduce shipping costs. Sipping and handling costs will be included in our prices. Please be aware that we use and recycle cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and envelopes when we can in our packaging, this not only helps the enviroment it also helps keep packaging costs down. If your item is destined to be a gift and you would like it packaged in a new box with tissue paper please make us aware of this when ordering so we can adjust our costs accordingly. If no instructions are received we will assume you are happy with our attempts at recycling perfectly good cardboard boxes and will package your items in a way to stop any transit damage.

We aim to post all item(s) via a courier which includes £25 insurance cover in the shipping costs quoted.  This is a standard parcel service delivered to you within 3 to 5 working days of collection by the courier.  Items are packaged and ready for collection by the courier withing 48 hours of receiving payment.

Should your order require an item signed for or you require additional insurance please advise us prior to ordering and we will be happy to give you an estimate.

If you require multiple items shipped together please advise us and we will adjust the invoice total accordingly (when applicable).  Due to the size and weight of some items this may not always be available as they will have to be shipped individually.

Where additional shipping costs may occur :

Parcels that require signature & additional insurance cover. Please state at time of order

International buyers please contact us prior to placing your order and we will quote shipping costs to you for your consideration.

If an item has been commissioned then we will make arrangements with the purchaser via e-mail to confirm approximate lead time and give regular updates.

Items for Sale:

We endeavour to keep all items listed on this web site available for sale but due to the nature of our business we do attend craft fairs and this can unfortunately lead to some items being sold prior to being able update this web site.  In such cases should they occur we will offer the person an alternative item or cancelation of their order.
